It makes me nervous the way the Tech people seem so excited when they see KK, as if they are anticipating something.

a) Everything makes you nervous

b) Not sure this should make you nervous. They are excited about their "all star" system QB coming back to the family. We'll see how that goes.

Risky hire. I would have liked to see KK as an offensive coordinator at a program out from under Sumlin for a few years before I would vault him into head coach. But I guess you can't have too high of expectations when you're Tech.

Yea, might be a home run for Tech but you cannot get around the fact that he is 15 years old. MIght not be ready for the corner office. Not worth much, but some Tech folks I know, pretty high up the food chain, said it is a done deal also.

I wonder who his assistants will be? Does he have the coaching connections to bring in seasoned coordinators? Probably exciting for the fans, but lots of quetion marks.

If true, I think that's a great hire for Tech... even though Coach Bro annoys me.

I think it's high risk high reward. Risk: He doesn't have a lot of experience. Does he have the connections to put together a staff? How much of the offensive success was his doing v Sumlin's? Will Tech give him the time to learn on the job a build? Reward: he is young and very successful thus far. Big offensive guy which is what the Sand Aggies crave/identify with. He is a Red Raider so he could be loyal to Tech when successful and bigger schools come calling. He could coach there 30 years.

All in all, I like the hire for TTU and the B12. Though As a TCU fan I wish they'd kept Tubberville.

Exactly what I'm thinking

I guess that its a good hire but with only 4 years of coaching experience....

If he's smart, he'll find some old pro's to advise and guide him

The guy is going to get some stud QBs, that's for sure.

Kingsbury has been around offensive gurus since his time as a player at Tech, when Holgorsen and Leach were there. He called plays for UH in 2011, which obviously went pretty well. I like the hire and think TT has to realize it is a "niche" school. You can't build an Alabama-type program there, but you can specialize in one aspect of the game and do very well at it, as Leach proved.

This hire now makes three "no-brainer" head coaching decisions in a row for the Raiders...hope this one is every bit an equal to their other two.

This not using the brain thingy could become downright addictive out there on the caprock...one can only hope.

" Guns up, ya'll ", that way it's harder to shoot yourself in the foot.
