Kirk Bohls' Column Today - TCU 2013 favorite to win the league

From Kirk's column today - sorry if already posted, but I didn't see it:

"Through 11 games, it appears clear that David Ash has yet to take the strides necessary to be an elite quarterback because of how he played against top defenses like TCU and Oklahoma, Manny Diaz’s defense has been exposed when a team like the Horned Frogs can dominate Texas without throwing more than 10 passes, and Gary Patterson might be the Big 12’s best head coach under 70 years old. TCU could be the early preseason favorite to win the league in 2013"

Later in the column, Bohls states in his "one crazy prediction" that A&M could be preseason #1 next year - an all Texas MNC for 2013 could be a lot of fun.

I appreciate what Treyvone's doing under some tough circumstances, but I don't see how you can pick the Frogs with our uncertainty at qb.

But let me add that Patterson is the best BigXII coach, bar none. He would not let an experienced, talent laden team get blown out by Baylor with a nat'l champ at the finish line, as Mr. Snyder's team did.

Probably right. Offhand, TCU and OSU seem to be the best on paper for next season.

'Bama should be plenty tough again.

Oregon shouldn't be bad assuming Doritos Kelly stays.

aTm loses 12 of 22 starters... and at very key places.

Florida should be strong

Notre Dame should be good again

I think TCU around #10 to start the season would be appropriate

Talk is cheap. WV and OU were supposed to win the Big12 this year and that doesn't look like it will happen. TCU has to make a lot of progress before that can become a reality. They have the talent but will the players develop and remain hungry? In the past, TCU seems to do best when they can stay humble and have a chip on their shoulder. I will ignore this talk just like I ignore the other pompous utterings often made out of Austin.

I don't see uncertainty... If Casey is sober, Gary is going to give him every chance to get that job back and I expect him to be the starting QB in 2013... If he isn't clean or doesn't return, it will be Boykin.

And, we will know the answers to this in June.

I know the chances of it happening are insanely unlikely, and I don't expect us to be in a position for it yet, nor them for that matter, but man... getting the chance to play and beat Aggy in an NC game would be heaven on a football field.

I'm fairly certain I couldn't make it through that game without going into cardiac arrest.

It would be a match up of the 1938 and 1939 National Champions.

Agreed. Winning that game would be so sweet... would love to shove that in the face of every Aggy that never shuts up about anything.

However, I don't know how long it would take me to recover from a loss there.

If we played Aggy in the NC game I'm not sure I'd attend or watch.

Jake the TCU and OSU comment I'm almost certain was BigXII only. But I'll let him verify that. We should easily be top 15 as long as this offseason goes a LITTLE better...
