Waco honors Oklahoma City Thunder's Kenrich Williams with Key to City​

The Waco City Council honored hometown hero NBA player Kenrich Williams with a 'Key to the City' in a recent council meeting.

Williams, a Waco native who attended Waco University High School before starring at Texas Christian University, most recently played a crucial role in the Oklahoma City Thunder's recent NBA championship win.

He returned to his hometown of Waco to receive the city's highest honor Saturday, August 16.

During the ceremony, Waco Mayor Jim Holmes praised Williams not only for his athletic achievements but also for his character and dedication throughout his basketball career.

His mother used to sit several rows in front of me and she waived a sign that “Waco loves Kenrich”. Bet she’s happy today.

LT and Williams are two great TCU players from the Waco area. That probably has to annoy some Baylor fans in the area.
