I've noticed that Katie has been doing well this shooting season, but neither she nor Grundsoee competed last weekend at The Citadel. Do you know why that is? International competition?

I noticed that also and failed to ask Todd. It probably has to do with the US Olympic team.


From Todd:
She has been shooting very well. TCU is currently 2nd behind West Virginia in ranking. Katie is sitting 3rd overall in the NCAA in air rifle, in smallbore, and in aggregate. She completed the 3rd and final Olympic trial for air rifle a couple weeks ago in Alabama and is the US Olympic air rifle team's 2nd alternate. The 3rd and final trial for smallbore will be in Ft. Benning mid-March. She is currently 3rd overall but it's a very tight race for 3rd as there must be at least 5 or 6 ladies that are within a few points of each other. The top 2 go to the Olympics and they are pretty safe in those positions. Most recently she was just in Austria and Germany the last week. She shot in 4 air rifle matches there and made the finals all 4 times. She won the Bronze in one of them and her and a male teammate won the Bronze in the mixed doubles air rifle match. She's having the time of her life Butch.
