Kansas FB Recruiting

Accidentally noticed that 5 Greater New Orleans recruits ... a 5*/4*/and 3> 3*s have favored KU for 2018. Just curious what KU was able to offer, besides the crappiest stadium in the B12, that LSU or TCU was unable to provide them... plus 4 of them committed over a 2 day period.

Which all brings up a great point. I know there is a reason, but can someone explain why KU is allowed to recruit these kids that are following a coach and why TCU lost a kid that could not follow a coach?

You can follow a high school coach if he is hired by the college program in a coaching position, but not someone hired in a non coaching position, which is the situation at TCU

Hopefully they'll wake up some morning and realize what they have done

Have talked to a number of people in the LA recruiting game and apparently they are just "committed" as a nod to the coach and will be decommitting and signing elsewhere before the signing period.

Simply wish here, ... to see a ....(actually any player) ....hit the ball, at least ...some of the time. DBU appears to have that part of the game down.

Is this real or just [ steaming pile of Orgeron ] talk

Also didn't Kansas at one point have like four 4* players commit in a weekend and then a couple of them decommitted less than a week later

Ja'Marr Chase decommitted shortly after committing and he is close friends with current KU commit Aaron Brule who the Frogs most likely will flip soon. Also Nelson Jenkins was an early KU commit who flipped to LSU.

Still, it does seem a bit odd/unusual, no matter who committed and decommitted in the past.

Tony Hull is the coach referred to above, he was the HC at NO Warren Easton and has a tremendous reputation around New Orleans. A very good recruiter and sent a lot of players to D1 programs while at Warren Easton. Think had had close to or maybe even at a 100% graduation rate in his program there. Tremendous hire by Beatty.

Can't believe I read a thread about Kansas recruiting. I thought everyone on this board said athletes should go to college for academic reasons. Wes, you said you hope they wake up one day and realize what they had done. They committed to a university with good academic standings to get a college degree. Isn't that what D1 football is all about. Maybe they will wake up tomorrow and realize that.
