Of the three KU fans are complaining about the most that happened over a few minutes in the late third (the third down catch ruled incomplete, overturned fumble because arm moving forward and the disputed block in the back), the only one I think there is even a question is the third down catch. And the review was called “call stands” so tough call either way.

Little kid a few rows behind me, maybe 5 or 6 kept bellowing out “refs you suck” after that stretch. Made me chuckle. Football culture is an interesting thing.

You should have heard the oldies sitting next to me on the KU side. I heard for F bombs during the game than I have in a long time. They were irate.

It was nice to see the Frogs get some calls go their way. It has been a while for us, but I bet some of that was payback for that disaster in Highland Park.

The holding call may have been the last straw, but that crew is heading by the son of Walt Anderson who is in charge of Big 12 officiating. His crew is definitely the worst in the Big 12.

Are you talking about Derek Anderson, Walt’s son? If so, he was hired by the NFL for the 2024 season and is no longer in the Big 12.

It's often the same in the NFL, about the only thing that will improve it is to have full time refs. But the cost and the fact that 98% of all games are played on 1 day a week. Like in most things in like you get what you pay for. That wouldn't get rid of all the bad calls (see Angel Hernandez in baseball) but it would be greatly improved.

You know what, you might be right. When they initially reviewed this play, it literally took them a couple of minutes to show the right replay on tv. They kept showing his toes on the catch, but that was not the issue. The issue was did he step out of bounds before he caught the ball. They probably never saw the right replay lol.

BYU has won something nuts like twenty+ games in a row there under the floodlights over a stretch where their record in day-time home games is barely above .500

The home crowd must be so far past their bedtime and so jacked up on warm milk and cookies by kickoff that the lid comes off.
