Jonathan Gray--remember our disappointment?

Couldn't help but think yesterday at the close of the game about our huge disappointment over a year ago when, with much fanfare, Jonathan Gray announced he was going to UT. I guess because he's from Aledo we thought we might have a chance with him. But the sky fell, and he announced UT. Thought of this when I saw the statistics of the game. Playing before his school crowd of almost a hundred thousand, Jonathan rushed fifteen times and gained a TOTAL of 47 yards. That's three yards a carry. Three of our running backs did better than that. Maybe he'll develop, probably will, but then maybe the sky didn't fall, after all.

I'm sure he'll roll the rest of the conference in coming years, just glad our defense will only get better from this point on and most likely - barring any major injuries or extra-curricular activities - dominate the conference while he and Daje wear the Burnt Orange.

He will do fine, however I could care a less about any running back with our defense. We were the best defense Texas faced this year, and we made them miserable. They better get used to that for years to come.

Exactly. He's a hell of an athlete and a true asset to any team. I'm very happy with Catalon out of that class, but still wish Gray was ours.

Side note - really hope BJ can get a rushing TD either next week or in the bowl. Just crazy that he's our leading rusher but hasn't scored (except on a reception in OT against Tech).

A very good player who will likely play in the NFL and I wish he were here. I get the part about kids wanting to be here and I think we were pretty close on that.

Catalon is a good get and I'm interested to see how he develops after a year in the weight program. Gray is obviously taller and a bit stronger right now.
