I like where he's headed, the only glitch I see is how motivated would the teams be who are playing in the CCGs? Does anyone really care about conference championships anymore outside of their significance to the playoffs? Would a team rather win its conference and lose in the quarterfinals of the CFP or not win it's conference and win a quarterfinal game? I think probably the latter.

I’m in! Give the winners of the conference championship games the higher seeds in the CFP playing the lowest seeds in the CFP so that would be their incentive and benefit for winning their CCG.

I don’t love it, but the part about the best teams having to play conference championship games while others have a bye is indisputable. Conferences now are just collective bargaining groups for media rights and scheduling alliances. The notion of a conference championship game is dumb. Just shorten the season and play another round of the tournament to get the March madness chemistry going.
