"Did TCU ever offer you?" question in today's presser....(from an aggie friend of mine)

"I visited tcu multiple times and was intrigued by it. I never got an official offer from tcu. i went to a couple camps and tried to get an offer but never got one"

Now the general public knows....

Every school misses on an eval...Texas should be more embarrassed, seeing as how Manziel grew up a lifelong UT fan and didn't really come close to getting offered.

If Manziel is at Oregon this season, do they beat Stanford? I think yes...by a healthy margin. Mariota doesn't have JF's pocket presence or accuracy yet.

Who's to say they missed? Anyone read the article about his granddaddy and all A&M and his family are having to do to keep him on the straight and narrow? He's a great talent in his frosh year, but it's possible they wanted nothing to do with his baggage.

Good point. TCU would never take a QB with some baggage...

Link to all this stuff. i need as much ammo as possible... I told a bunch of atm people that Johnny "hate crime" Manziel has a dark history and they all said he was Andy Dalton but better.

Excellent post. It's obvious that the staff tested his bodily fluids for frog factor and Johnny came up negative.

You might be right. I was just being a bit of a smart-a and trying to make a point that we've brought in plenty of guys with at least SOME baggage. I'm thinking the coaches just rated TB higher than JM, which may or may not have been the right call... time will tell.

Seriously? I think Oregon is just fine with Mariota. If Deanthony Thomas blocked the DB instead of trying to beat his QB to the goal line, MM would have had a 95 yard TD in the game. He's hardly a stiff.

I don't think they missed. They liked TB better. TB is just as good a runner and has a stronger arm. I don't think Johnny Manziel would have done any better than TB in this offense which was designed for AD and CP and with TCU's young and inexperienced OL.

Been said before but guess it needs to be said again I suppose. Sumlin is a great offensive coach. His offense has multiple run only or run pass option plays designed for a QB like TB or JM. TCU's does not. For most of the year (except for last week), TB has handed off, run a read zone, or scrambled for any yards that he has gained. On most passing plays, the backfield has been empty with 5 wides or emptied out when the RB goes in motion. Very few, if any, play action bootleg run/pass option plays for him have been run. Can't know but I would think that TB would have had the same or better success in that Aggie offense and with their OL.
