jason Verrett and our DBs...playing as good as we've seen in years...

1. We found a way to give Kevin White deep help.
2. Olabode, Hackett and Carter are playing as good a coverage as I can remember
3. Verrett might be the best CB in the league outside Colvin at OU.
4. DBs look good when a 4 man rush gets there consistantly.
5. Bad QBs look bad against good DBs.
6. Our DBs tackle as well as they cover. UTs DBs and LBs even miss tons of tackles.
7. Bend but don't Break...works great against bad QBs...sooner or later they implode or bog down.
8. Our DBs play with a swagger..and it shows and I guarantee the UT O noticed...at least their coaches. And it showed in their scared play calling.

And they are all back next year. What a salty bunch that will be. The entire defense will be back save Cain and if Gildon does indeed make it back, next years group has a chance to possible be Pattersons best.

And, if Jenkins lives up to his press clippings....and Moore matures on schedule ...and if Hilliard is as good as hoped for....next year is going to be fun.
Agree on Verrett, btw.....there were a few folks who "didn't belong" on the field last night but none of them were wearing purple.

I think having Glasgow back has really helped.

I think having him back is great too but I have to give Coach Shannon a big thumbs up! He's the linebackers coach but he's also helping the other coaches! Not saying for sure but he may be the biggest part of our new defensive scheme!

Everyone from UT is saying it was poor passing causing the interceptions but one was a near perfect pass and if it had gone three inches higher I think even the receiver would have missed it but it was the defensive backs in perfect position that caused the interceptions! IMO

The first INT was a great play by Verrett, ball was a little underthrown but not awful by any means. The second INT was a smart, great play by Olabode and Ash shouldn't have thrown the ball but Olabode did make a nice play on it. Sam Carter's INT was a little easier, but still clutch.

I love how our three best players in the secondary made the INTs. Those three guys are scary dangerous.

And the other two, Hackett and Kevin White were NEVER picked on really...which in the world of DBs...having your name rarely called or remembered isn't a bad thing.

Kinda funny J. Anderson was one of our best safties last year and now he rarely plays from scrimmage. We need to slap a RS on Jordan Moore next year as GP said he thinks some of these true freshman playing this year will redshirt nxt year.
