It is done. Time now to reflect and reminisce of better times and happier memories...

It is over. Finished. The door is shut.

But, what wonderful things happened in those many years! The things we all saw, things we never would have believed, yet they came to pass. The stars aligned for many parties: Players, Coaches, the University, Fort Worth, a lot of magic crackled over the two decades we have witnessed, and the remembrance of it brings a smile.

What was the best GMFP memory?

July 1st, 2012.

Getting the program from the WAC/C-USA/MWC/Big East(lol) all the way to the Big 12.

Say what you want about whats happened to the Big 12 of late but, when we got invited to join the conference, every fan felt like we had returned home.

The best moment for sure.

Mrs. Brewingfrog and I came up early for the Dedication Ceremony for the New and Improved Amon G. Carter Stadium. All the Usual Suspects spoke, a ribbon was cut, and they let us walk around the new digs and admire all the spiffy new suites and such.

The nice thing was looking at the field crew painting the BIGXII logo on the field while we walked around. Sigh...

When people refer to the best day of their life, people usually say it was their wedding day or the birth of their first child. My wedding day was so long I was numb. My hand was tingling from shaking so many hands. I'm sure I was having a stroke. My first child was born after 12 hours of induced labor. Not the best days ever...
My best day ever?........Rose Bowl.
Thank you, Gary for that.

Rose Bowl with a group of some of my closest friends in the world was incredible but the day I got a call from my position coach (not GP) that my parents didn't have to pay for school anymore was and is number one. I was honestly never a fan of GP when I played for him or after but he'll go down as one of the greats and has a statute so there's that. Nostalgic for the past and hopeful (and excited) for the future. Go Frogs!

I think it was the Georgia and Oklahoma bowl game where Patterson was providing commentary, and it was immediately obvious how much better Patterson understood this game than any of the other coaches there. I was pretty proud that he was our coach then.
Is that the one where Major Applewhite looked like he wanted to crawl in a hole and hide because he was so outmatched intellectually?

The Rose Bowl
The Peach Bowl

Because as far as I am concerned, The Frogs were National Champions. Still believe to this day that they would have
beaten Auburn (defense was made to stop Cam and that run game) and Ohio St. ( defense and on offense, a tempo that would have worn them flat out) if given that opportunity.

Thanks, GP for those and other great memories. Wish it had not ended like this, but few times in life does it end as planned.

Back in the old ACS, probably about 12 years ago, both of my elementary school age daughters were sitting on the railing separating the first row and field behind the team bench on the west side. A lot of the younger kids did that back then.

In the 4th Qtr, GP walks over and briefly speaks to them. They came running up the seats so excited and thrilled the TCU coach spoke to them. Happier times.

No doubt for me it was the Rose Bowl as # 1. However, there were so many others - Peach Bowl, Alamo Bowl comeback, beating UT so often, conference championships, top 10 finishes, double digit win seasons, Game Day, and on and on...

I knew it was time to end, but somehow the way it went down seems like a bad ending to a great time.

I am fortunate that my introduction to football was Gary Patterson's TCU team. Patterson was hired maybe a year or 2 before my freshman year.

I did not understand/know the game of football when I came to TCU. I ended up loving the football team and appreciating the game. So many memories have been made and met so many good friends because of it.

I know what he has done for TCU and the city of Fort Worth. You not only feel it but you see it. Just look at the campus and how it has progressed, maybe not all because of the football team but it sure had influence because of the popularity.

It is truly sad, I wish he could have ended on a higher note. But people need to know it's a business decision. We don't take anything away from what the Pattersons have done for TCU and the community.

Build a bigger statue, name something in TCU after him. It is all deserved.

In no particular order.

- Rose Bowl
- Peach Bowl
- Putting up 80+ points against Texas Tech
- Avenging the 70-35 loss to Tech by holding them to 3 points.
- The good job Big 12 Baylor game

Good list but I’ll put them in a particular order:

1. Rose Bowl
2. Pre-game Rose Bowl
3. Post-game Rose Bowl
4. Peach Bowl
5. 12-3 avenging demolition of Tech
6. College Gameday on campus and the stadium atmosphere against Utah
7. Remember the Alamo
8. 2005 in Norman
