Is anyone else concerned?

  1. The Center for Disease Contrils mission is:

“to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same.”

But they cannot report anything with the words “science-based” or “research-based”. Someone please explain this to me.

  2. I believe it's been shown that this was an over-reaction to a very specific circumstance. There was apparently a directive in one CDC office to avoid the use of those words in the budget proposals to avoid a political showdown. It was not a blanket ban on the use of words or discussion of those topics, nor was it a shift in the direction or mission of the CDC overall.

  3. That's just crazy. Why would any one in the government want to ban words. I mean, imagine the insanity if the White House ordered agencies to ban words or phrases like "Islamic Terrorists."

    ;)
