So I am lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving with Sooners, Raiders, and Horns.

The Sooners and Raiders were cheering for us, but as soon as the game ended they diminished our victory as UT playing poorly. My football ignorant, Tech alum BIL ( redundant I know) further diminished us by saying "first win against a bowl eligible team"

We will see how that changes today and tomorrow.
Go Neers. Go Bears.

In the words of the immortal Lee Corso, "Not so fast there..." (What? Did you think I was going to say, "Aw, flip it."?)

I've been trying to figure out how to get the most pain and suffering out of my trash-talking Whorn buddies at the office on Monday. If you make too much of a deal of this victory, then it just validates their assumption that Texas is and always has been The Football Program in Texas. After all, if UT had won, they wouldn't be making as much of a deal about it as TCU is doing now, right?

How about this?

"You're right, guys. This isn't that significant. Sure, it's emotionally satisfying to beat Texas in Austin, but the West Virginia game in Morgantown was a much more exciting and meaningful game. The truth is that UT just isn't a "measuring stick" program in the Big XII any more. I'm sure RG3 loved beating the Cowboys, but let's face it, beating the Cowboys or the Longhorns just isn't that rare. Now... Oklahoma? We've got a lot of preparation to do. Let's talk about Oklahoma instead of ancient history."

In fairness to me, Tom Brown, I would also like to add that I congratulated you on TCU's victory and also gave TCU's defense a lot of credit. UT did play pretty terrible. Those INT's were awful, all of them were. And the fumble where Ash was untouched. But TCU's defense was incredible and great defensive play tends to make an offense look bad.

As for the first win over a bowl eligible conference opponent, well facts are facts. Just stated a fact. I'm sorry if it is a fact you are not happy with. I am sure by season's end that will change, surely WVU will beat either ISU or KU or both. And I wouldn't count the frogs out against OU either.

All of that "have only beat one bowl eligible team" crap is just whistling in a graveyard. They know this is a team of youth that is only going to get better in the coming years.

It's what Tech fans like me have stooped to after watching a once promising season get flushed down the toilet, losing to UT and Okie Lite in rather embarrassing fashion. Although we have already exceeded many people's expectations of Tech this year, we should be 1-2 wins better or at least not allowed Okie Lite to kick our tails the way they did.

Tech's signature win this season is iowa State. We had hoped for better after the WVU win, but well we have seemed to play worse every single week since then. Hopefully we can beat the Bears in similar fashion to the Frogs, but I am not convinced we can after what I have seen in recent weeks.

You are correct sfrog3. So if WVU gets to six wins, both TCU and Tech would have another win over a bowl eligible team. Despite that I'm pulling for Rhoades and ISU.

I'm going to predict ISU by two scores. Bold prediction I know. But it's incredibly windy today in Ames and we saw how WVU handled that in Lubbock.

I'd like to see WVU finish as close to the bottom as possible after coming into the conference arrogant enough to think they would win it all in their first season.

First, I doubt this is really my BIL, he isn't intelligent enough to find KFF and create an account. He went to tech and studied animal husbandry, no that wasn't his major, but rather his occupation.

Second, the only have 1 over 1 bowl eligible team, is lame seeing that the season isn't even over.

Third, ISU is bowl eligible, but is nothing special. It took a DUI arrest for them to beat us.

Fourth, the way Tech beat us, that win is arguably Tech's signature win.

Final point, the irony of it all (here is a definition of irony:http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irony)
is that these Raiders diminish our win over the very team that owns them.

Iowa State is our signature win. Period. And they are a better team than TCU wants to give credit. Last year they knocked Okie Lite off their pedestal and kept them from a perfect season and a shot at the national championship. As I recall TCU was still favored against Iowa State by at least six, even after Pachall was arrested. The Frogs were top 20 at that time, even after the Pachall arrest were supposed to beat Iowa State soundly. Just goes to show what the experts know. USC was preseason number one, now they have the same record as both Tech and TCU. Go figure.

I should point out that I am indeed Tom Brown's BIL, and I think you should all be aware he is a t shirt fan and a graduate of a liberal arts school in North Texas and not a TCU graduate.

What is all this talk about not beating bowl eligible teams? The Big 12 could end up with 9 of their 10 teams being bowl eligible. No other conference will be near that.
