He's a person on social media. He's not a representative of the University anymore. No one who says crazy stuff on social media has actual evidence or proof. He doesn't need evidence to make a statement on Twitter. He's also not saying anything that is incredibly controversial.

I wouldn't do it because I think it's dumb and I think social media in general is a plague. I also don't think it's a big deal and it certainly doesn't make "us" look bad.

Don't know Jason Phillips at all, but the way he comes across on social media it would appear to me that he's 1) not all that smart and 2) probably drinks a lot which gets his mind, and ultimately his fingers, racing a bit. Just a guess.

He's be better off taking a long break from twitter IMO.

Posted at 2:41pm. If he’s drunk tweeting at that hour that’s a problem. Unless he works nights.

The following post is redundant, obvious, and a bit off topic but...

The SEC scheduling is a joke. Four non conference jokes (a few exceptions) and a bye week? Really? They never really play a tough stretch of games. No "murderer's row" like they claim.

Check out Auburn and LSU's schedules and tell me they don't play a tough stretch of games (relative to anyone else in college football). Basically, any team that plays both Alabama and Georgia probably has a tougher path to an unbeaten or 1-loss regular season than anyone else in college football, and those two teams (Auburn and LSU) would likely have to face Alabama and Georgia three times to win their conference. FCS games and bye weeks aside, that is brutal.

Was I supposed to type something here?
The SEC does "under the table" payments to potential recruits? What is this devilry?!?

Are y'all just forgetting Ole Miss coughing up a wad of money to reel in a herd of highly ranked recruits? Auburn out-paying Miss. St. for the smiling scumbag a few posts up? Auburn distributing pre-paid VISA cards like candy? Alabama being involved in a host of similar schemes through the years? None of this is new, and I'm sure Alabama had the checkbook open just as much as the rest of them.

Money-laundering through a church isn't new either.

The NCAA has pretty much turned a blind eye to enforcement of the Name Brand Programs. They generate too much revenue, and, heavy penalties might upset TV scheduling. Boise State had better watch out...

But is he breaking any news? We all know this is going on. It’s going to continue to happen with churches and casino chips.
Oh I agree, I don’t think anyone thinks he’s breaking news. I’m certainly not thinking that. But this kind of thing goes no where when no ones talking about it.

Most likely this tweet will never gain any traction whatsoever, but for a guy who played the game it’s more personal to him.

Ive got no problem with him speaking his mind on something he knows to be true.

So admittedly you don’t know him, but you feel the need to call him a drunk because he tweeted something with a general consensus to be true?

At least not every school does it. Remember when Ricky Seals-Jones turned down $600,000 from some SEC schools to play at A&M for free, because he was worried about it interfering with his eligibility?

hart lee dykes is still my favorite recruiting story.

he signed his loi after the name of another recruit was whited out and dykes signed over the top of it. later when the ncaa was investigating multiple schools in the recruitment of dykes he was offered immunity by the ncaa, took it, told everything, and then played his final season at oklahoma state.

you have to think the locker room and the meeting rooms were a bit strange that year when everyone knew what had happened with dykes.

No, I have no idea if he drinks at all. He posts like someone who does though IMO (because he's gone on similar rants before), that's why it might be best for him to stop using social media.

Yes, you said “he probably drinks a lot.” Reference your second bullet point.

Maybe he just disagrees with the current system that’s in place and is vocal about it.
