Of course it could have been one of those fine Okie, noodling show, women. I stand corrected!

To be honest, I think Mrs. Turk is a little overly sensitive about these things (although I've never been able to pick up on that sort of thing - I always just think the nice lady is being nice...)

The upside is that it keeps Mrs. Turk on her toes, so I've got that going for me... which is nice.

(And yes, I probably would have lost an arm wrestling contest with her.)

Speaking of not knowing about TCU, judging from the enrollment and alumni numbers posted around here, quite a few TCU folks aren't current on TCU. Here are the current numbers (rounded to even thousands):

Enrollment: 10,000
Living Alumni: 82,000

Not to mention, they clearly know nothing about our school/team/season which is understandable I suppose.

Big10 fans live in their own little world. Took a train from Pasadena back to pick my car after the Rose Bowl. Share some space with some recent Wiscy grads. One of them thought that they just got beaten by the University of Texas. All the rest, when asked what they knew about the TCU student population, thought that we had 25,000 students.

It never ceases to amaze me how little people know about our school. An OU guy next to me knew next to nothing about us. He was nice about it but I couldn't believe his ignorance. Same thing happened in Austin. People don't know we're a private school. They don't know what conference we came from. One guy even thought we were independant prior to joining the BXII. Maybe I'm just a nerd but I could probably recite at least basic facts about every school in FBS.

I don't really follow all of this "nobody knows anything about TCU" stuff. I'd highly doubt that without looking it up, many would know much about MSU either, like:

# of BCS bowls they've played in
# of national titles they have
enrollment
Heisman winners, if any

I am a huge football fan, live in Big Ten country, and would struggle to answer those questions about MSU, even though I've seen them play in person probably 10+ times.

I don't really care what people in Michigan know about TCU as a school. What I know is that we will no longer be able to sneak up on anybody in regard to football ability...

ONly been to Michigan three times.....once to Detroit, which was a dump and may still be; once to Flint for the Buick Open, and once antiquing, which was by far the best visit because we shopped in numerous small towns across the southern part of the state and found them well-stocked with both antiques and nice people.

Actually, the number anti-Notre Dame Catholics (especially those who grew up in the Midwest but went to a Big 10 institution) has always surprised me.

ONly been to Michigan three times.....once to Detroit, which was a dump and may still be; once to Flint for the Buick Open, and once antiquing, which was by far the best visit because we shopped in numerous small towns across the southern part of the state and found them well-stocked with both antiques and nice people.

SW Michigan is nice, as is the UP. Family vacationed a couple times at a little Catskills-style resort near Berrien Springs.
