Max and App showed their human side. Purke and Wink have been off at times.
Purke doesn't need what a bunch of Internet fans say to be ready.
Both teams should and will have healthy respect for each other. You don't get to Omaha because you can't play and aren't capable of winning it all.

GMAB... I obviously dont mind them thinking they have a chance... but if you read the thread, they think he's average at best. Big difference.

Just read that whole thread and it seemed like there were a lot of sane baseball comments. Especially the one who pointed out Purke's line against Texas and the fact that TCU's hitters ripped Chance Ruffin a new one.
I thought that thread on the FSU forum was, in sum, pretty decent. A few jerks tried to get everybody fired up, but cooler heads prevailed.
Beating Texas has already had a calming effect on our opponent's expectations of walking all over these upstart first-timers from Fort Worth.

FSU can't pitch like Texas but their bats are way better IMO. Was anyone else puzzled at how many 250ish hitters UT had.

Purke is getting a ton of respect from the FSU fans on the Rivals Baseball Board. In fact, our whole team is getting a ton of respect from everyone... I've been kind of shocked. Just about as many people are picking us to win the whole thing as any other team, and almost everyone is picking us to win game 1.
I feel like college baseball fans are WAY better fans than college football fans when it comes to being reasonable and courteous. Maybe that's just because I'm a fan of a small school, and small schools get way more respect in college baseball than football.

I think partly baseball fans have a knowledge of and belief in the power of stats that is waayyy above football fans. And, when you come down to it, I think stats are a better model in baseball for several reasons.
