Interesting game. It took a Heisman effort from Max to keep it close to a 3 loss K State team, who otherwise dominated us for almost the entire game.

Thinking we might be better off in the Cotton Bowl, allowing Max to enjoy all of the hardware he will win / win because of his efforts today and not another beat down at the hands of Georgia or Michigan.

KSU stunted a fair amount and many times had the line stacked with a full rush on. Not sure why we don’t much, but our D coordinator knows a hell of a lot more than me. Just a (frustrating) observation. They kept flashing our offensive production vs KST during game and they were identical minus 1td. Great game that we just came up short.

agree they did a great job a taking what they did and then implementing things that teams had done the back half of the season against the frogs

attacking the pocket and pressuring max, taking away the short throws and middle of the field

do think over time we do see more evolution of the gillespie scheme and i do think some decisions can be questioned, but as i think jug missed in his misguided thread yesterday, this defense is made up of guys who for the most part weren't recruited for this scheme (defensive line especially) and there are players who haven't even worked in this scheme for a full year under gillespie

heck, banks just now is at the end of year 2 as a linebacker period

there are some key pieces in this recruiting class the frogs need to sign and get on campus as well as a few holes to fill with transfers
