How imbalanced was the crowd?

Game stories and Twitter are saying more than 50% KU. True?

Was the student section full throughout, or did it fill as word of the possible upset spread?

It was heard to tell since the KU fans were quiet most of the night. There was a lot of blue there though, and they were really loud when they had a good play.

I thought the student section was great. Full throughout. Loud. Good work students. Please keep it up -- the team needs you.
I'd guess the crowd was 50/50. It was tough to tell because for most of the game, their fans were dead silent. There was a stretch in the second half when they cut it to 4 and then late when they would cut the lead where they were freaking loud. Everytime they got the loud, the students tried to respond, but the KU fans were freaking loud.

It may have been 50/50ish in terms of attendance, but watching the highlights on gofrogs, it was 80-20 in terms of sound. They showed several Jayhawks scores in the gofrogs highlights and there was a decided difference in the sound response to a score. Great job students.

I can't speak for the first half because I was in class but I do know a lot of TCU students showed up for the second half. TCU360 posted something about the game at halftime and told the fans to get down to the DMC as soon as possible. It seemed about 60/40 Kansas fans but the TCU fans were much louder (at least from where I was sitting). Every time KU fans tried to start a "Let's go Jayhawks!" chant, the student section started up a chant to cancel them out. It was weird feeling like I was actually in a basketball arena for once. Extremely awesome though.

As for the "Overrated" chant, most of the students actually weren't saying it. It was just a small group. Most were telling everyone to wait until the scoreboard hit 0:00 and trying to be loud on defense. Super proud of my fellow classmates for their effort last night.

There was also some standard TCU sports fandom confusion at times, as there was way too much noise trying to be made when we had the ball. Overall, the crowd was great though.

KU crowd definitely sounded loud on TV when they made a big play. That said, TV coverage and ESPN highlights, etc have shown tons of love to the Frog fans. The one ESPN article did poke fun at our fan base, essentially saying we had no idea how to react in such an unfamiliar situation...

I missed the very beginning of the game, but a co-worker told me we started the "overrated" chant when we went up 2-0. Is that true? If so, that's funny, and the only time the overrated chant isn't a terrible terrible idea.

It's kind of a blur, but I thought it was more along the lines of a 6-2 kind of score and several minutes in to the game when it started, which is much less funny.

Still kind of funny IMO. Not as funny as 2-0 after the first basket, but I'm OK with it. Anything after midway point in the 1st half is lame.

I watched some of Johnny Swaim's better teams play in DMC a long, long time ago. With ~5,500 or more TCU fans and a good game, the crowd could be deafening. I hope today's students have that experience soon. Next year would be good.

Watching on TV (from Austin), I couldn't distinguish KU blue from TCU purple in non-student seats. The casual observer would probably think the crowd was predominately TCU.

It was really, really nice that KU fans lacked the enthusiasm to control the noise. I was expecting it to be the other way, particularly as their fans seem to be a lot better than TCU fans at making noise at appropriate times and being relatively quiet at appropriate times. The TV personalities commented on the few time that KU fans started chiming in, during what passed for KU runs in the second half. But the KU fans never threatened to hijack the home court noise advantage, at least by the TV appearance.

Stupidest Cheer of all time... will never understand why the hell people say that. Some dumbass and his buddy usually start it and then all the morons join in...

But with that said, students showed up in force and did a really really good job... Except for the idiots that wore KU shirts to the game. That's what pissed me off the most
