How has our offensive line recruiting been the last couple of years?

I've never really been a great follower of recruiting, but am always interested, and since participating here at KF board, I've enjoyed watching the videos and reading about the potential recruits.

I don't remember hearing much about OL recruiting. Maybe its just me, and like a lot of people, pay more attention to the RBs, WRs, DBs, etc...

Do people here feel our incoming OL recruits over the last 2 years have kept up with the other positions?

It seems like they don't spend a whole lot of time trying to get big OL recruits. Don't know why because it all starts with the OL.

Obviously not signed yet but they 3 for 2013 look really good: Fromayan, Noteboom and especially Morris. The group from 2012 already contributing as true freshmen and Joey Hunt is going to be a stud at center. I know Collins makes a lot of mistakes but that kid when on looks very nice.

I thought one reason for my thinking this was that I know TCU is well-known for taking people and developing them at other positions. For defensive ends I can see that, but didn't know how well that would work out at offensive line (or even if this had been in any way their philosophy in developing offensive linemen). Seems to me that wouldn't work as well for OL players...but I'm not one who would know, anyway.

Not sure if you're implying we don't care that much about OL recruiting relative to other positions, or if you're talking about whether or not we recruit O-Linemen who weigh a lot. If its the former, you're wrong, we definitely understand that having good OL is important and focus on it as much as other positions.

If it's the latter, I've noticed we focus more on big frames and good footwork, then beef them up if necessary once they get to campus.

I'm talking about historically, obviously I think we are making vast recruiting improvements every year. It seems like every year for the past 3 years has been our best recruiting class

I stood next to Noteboom for a while at the OU game, and they need to start doubling his eating portions and workout routine. Fortunately it looks like he has some time to develop with a sophomore and freshman at the tackle spots, but Maponga would snap him in half.

In regards to Collins, he seems like he has all the physical attributes to be great. He really has to settle down though... I know he plays angry, but these PF calls are killer.

Also, I've heard twice now that Alabama was after Collins yet I can't find proof of that... is that true?

If you throw in that ALABAMA was going after COLLINS and a few ofther ALL CAPS words, your credibility increases tenfold.

I want to know why the 2011 OL recruiting class (Bobby Thompson, Brady Foltz, Jamelle Naff) has been beaten out across the board by the 2012 OL recruiting class (Big V, Collins, Hunt).

Shouldn't the RS Freshman, with their extra year of experience, have been the guys who filled in this year at O line as opposed to the true freshman? Why is Bobby behind not one, but two true freshman linemen on the OT depth chart? At the interior line spots, why did both Brady Foltz and Jamelle Naff get beat out by a true freshman who played DT in high school?

Jake, Alabama came in late on Collins. Hard to ignore a guy who is 6'6 300 and ran on his high schools 4x100 relay team.

I'm very excited about our future at OL. Collins will play on Sundays, Hunt will too. I think Big V is very solid and I've heard good things about Childs. Noteboom needs to add weight, but he has tremendous feet and plays with a real nasty streak. Morris is just a great prospect, told UT to take a hike. Fromayan has great potential and we need to get started at his high school, absolutely loaded with talent

Not sure about the others, but Bobby just can't stay healthy. I know Williamson likes him a lot

I like Norris too, excited about Fromayan too. Love those Georgia recruits. Not sure why, seems like a state whose talent pool is increasing. That kid lives really close to my cousins, kinda random but cool.
