How do the frogs defensive personnel fit into gillespie's 3-3-5?

Disagree. I see no reason for optimism with Ellis, Misi, Sorrells and Cooper. Potentially one of those guys contributes in a meaningful way, but all those guys are big reasons we were abysmal in 2021. Some of the worst players on the team.

Getting Player from Tulsa would be huge. That's like a one win change right there

cooper has shown potential and production in the past, but there was a great deal of what looked like just don't give a [ Finebaum ] early on. the question is why was a guy who had shown some promise in the past suddenly going through the motions

elli and misi didn't show much, but again the question is why?

sorrells is a the biggest mystery of them all as he came with hype and somehow never saw the field so again the question is why?

if all of these kids were/ are dogs the biggest question isn't about them but why was the staff that brought them in and kept them around kept for so long?

there isn't a position on that defense in 2021 that wasn't a big reason of why that defense was so bad and that goes to coaching and support staff positions

Different sport, still applicable IMO. In 1993-1994 the men's basketball team was 7-20. People moaned that our talent level was horrendous and only some major recruiting would help. Our one big recruit, Kurt Thomas was a bust. And we hired Billy Tubbs. In 1994-1995 the Frogs were 16-11! And were more entertaining, scoring a ton. Kurt Thomas led the nation in rebounding and scoring.

The only thing that changed was the coaching staff. The team went from an untalented mess to a talented, entertaining and competitive team.

I am hoping that this change in football will be similar.

Basketball has 5 key players to make/break the team.

Football has 22+ key players. It is much harder to turn football around.
