Well since our fans are the ones that are making up the revenge idea - who exactly needs to grow up?
Another confusing post on your part 09.
Maybe you're confused, the revenge idea resides with GP & wife. I'm only responding to that news from a previous poster as to it's authenticity. So, if true - and only "if" true, they need to accept the butt hurt and not focus on "revenge" to TCU. (It's not that GP wasn't complicit in his own demise, and largely so. Only when it got
really bad (it was unwatchable football!) this mid-season did the TCU bosses tell him the news of their decisions regarding the future of TCU football/athletics and his future non-role. He then carried on like some kind of maniac - reportedly - and made things worse for everyone involved - the team, other coaches, TCU decision makers and staff, TCU student body and the much larger TCU community of fans, alums and by-standers.)
Not saying they are bad people, it's just that they needed to take the firing/release in better stride. Nobody like to be fired or released - I've been x-ed out in my career/businesses - unusually unfairly - but I didn't go on an elephant hunt to take down some big game.
His taking the new job with UT only hurts THEM long-term. IMO. It doesn't hurt me or you or anyone else who hopes, prays and supports TCU's place in this world as an institution and the fruits of its labor. His pro-TexasU move can easily be construed as anti-TCU and Gary & wife don't care it appears. If he had simply gathered his emotions (he
is getting paid $5+M for 2022), taken a step back and proceeded in the future (which I'm certain would be quite rewarding for him.) Did he HAVE to take a swipe at TCU? Absolutely not! Is there any "going back" to restore GP's status to TCUers? If I read the tea leaves correctly, there will never again be any "warm fuzzies" with GP and the TCU crowd.
(Old DelConte, Mr. Alixir/Medicine Man Show, I bet concocted this scenario to throw a punch at TCU to show his dominion and power. Otherwise, why would a major football school put up big change to hire someone who recently failed so miserably in the area of expertise for which he was hired? Yep,
I'm confused about that reasoning!)
