Speaking of that, I am real happy for GP, his players mauled him after the game. You leave GP to only defense and name one better in college ball today. Riley ain't no fool. They may make a run in the playoffs.
I agree with you. It is great to see GP smiling and successful. But I doubt he will get pressure with 3 DL against Oregon, UW, OSU or Ind. But he has definitely brought tons of energy into that defense. Night and day since the Alamo Bowl.

It is hard for me to root for USC, but it will be fun to see GP's blitz packages against Cignetti's offense.

Hoov always had good form, a quick motion, and a ball that had a lazer-like trajectory. He is likely benefiting from a competent QB coach, and an OC that is working to his strength.

Pity we didn't have any of that.
That game between USC and Indiana may be the most watched game during the regular season. I wonder if Sonny will sneak a peek? Early thoughts, might have to go with GP and Riley on this one although the game willl be at Indiana.

Indiana football QB Josh Hoover : Called arriving at IU a "culture shock." On trying to develop under Cignetti: "It's a continuous process. It's never good enough, and you've got to show up every day and earn it. You have to earn the right to win, that's the part I love."

Sonny was blaming Hoov's QB play on his inabilities to stop the turnovers. Cig decided to come with a new approach............coaching.

Josh Hoover explains how different Indiana football develops its quarterbacks, and the adjustment process to get ready for Week 1 throughout the entire offense.

It’s like a nightmare. We had it all and too many didn’t appreciate it. Now all we want is what we had…
Good grief. No, we really don’t, unless you’re talking about Hoover and maybe Briles.

But Hoover having a really good week in Week 1 was entirely predictable. He’s on a better team playing an overmatched opponent. Same is true for all these guys we’re talking about.

I think we're going to look back at 2026 as the year the haves really seperated themselves from the have nots. LSU would embarrass us worse than they did Clemson. Even a program like Clemson who has had success is falling behind. Oklahoma State looks pitiful. Houston looked average vs Oregon State. It took a couple of years for everyone to figure NIL out and now it's in full effect.

There’s no doubt this is happening. And it was entirely predictable.

There are still some outcomes that leave you scratching your head (OSU-Tulsa, WMU-UM) but there are more totally noncompetitive games than ever. And if Tulsa and WMU have any decent players that hadn’t been discovered yet by the big money teams, they won’t be at Tulsa and WMU next year.
