Pitching coaches in Fayetteville Regional go back a ways
By: Matt JonesFAYETTEVILLE — Familiarity and respect is strong for pitching coaches at this week’s NCAA Fayetteville Regional.
All four pitching coaches — Matt Hobbs of Arkansas, Kirk Saarloos of TCU, Rusty Filter of Santa Clara and Dave Lawn of Arizona — have crossed paths for years. Saarloos and Filter are their teams’ head coaches after developing strong reputations for working with pitchers.
All four coaches have roots in California.
