[background=rgb(239, 239, 239)]Heading to your town for the game this weekend. I expect your RB to score at will against our D. Not sure who will win really after watching my team give up a million yards over the past few weeks. Anyway, can y'all help with any good gameday info for a first time visitor? We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Medical Center. I'm hoping that's a good place? Outside of that I have no clue about ANYTHING! [/background]

[background=rgb(239, 239, 239)] How is parking? Where can I take a pic with the TCU cheerleaders? Where's a good place to eat? Just any info you can spare would be appreciated. Looking forward to the trip and a great game! Thanks! [/background]

not sure of the hotel choice. should be an ok location though.

As far as gameday stuff, parking isn't great and i'm sure it will likely be at its worst this game. 11am kick sucked last time and this will be OU. I would suggest parking near the baseball field on the west or south west side. outside of that it gets dicey. For cheer leaders, your best bet is to be in the stadium when the band does its parade around the inside of the stadium.

as for non game stuff, if you can go to Joe T's. great mexican food just north of downtown. If not, your hotel is close to papasitos, not a bad place. good drinks and good food.

You are staying in a newer Hilton Garden Inn, its in an ok area. You have quick access to bars on Magnolia, and also quick access to downtown via I-30 or Forest Park.

Parking depends on how early you get to the game. If you wait until an hour before, your best bet will be on Berry St at Paschall High School and shuttle over, if you plan on getting there early and tailgating, then west of the baseball field on the grass is the best spot, but I would recommend you get there by 8.

Pics of cheerleaders? No clue.

Hope you enjoy your time and welcome to Fort Worth. Good Luck this weekend.

Thanks! We talked about doing the whole Frog Alley thing, if it's worth it? Sadly, our "Fan Fest" is pretty pathetic and I wouldn't recommend it to any visitors, even fellow Sooners. We wouldn't mind seeing your players come in, as our guys have never done such a thing (we're snooty that way I guess?). We thought of maybe getting to the stadium around 9? We don't mind doing the HS thing with the shuttle if it's easier.

Would like to find the cheerleaders for a pic though, in case it's my only good memory of the weekend!

As mentioned across I-30 from your hotel are 3 Papa's restuarants--mexican, seafood or burgers. To your southeast is Magnolia which has a collection of unique places to eat, no chains that I can think of. North on University you will come to 7th street which has a collection of just about everything. Some of it tends toward the pricey side. Further north you will come to White Settlement Rd and find Angelos BBQ on the right. I think its the best but you'll get lots of debate on that. Even further north on N. Main Street you'll find Joe T's which I also think is great but you will find people disputing that.

South on University takes you toward campus. Fuzzys, Los Vaqueros, Dutches are all good.

Toward the Northeast side of downtown is Sundance Square where you will find a large group of restaurants and bars. A good place to go if you want to eat and then hang out afterward.

To your west about 5 minutes is Uncle Julio's. Most people think it's about as good as it gets but, again, someone will disagree.

Can't help you with the cheerleaders but if you had wanted a pic with the showgirls I would have hooked you up.

In all honesty, you're about 3 miles from Campus. If it were me, I'd save myself the hassle of parking and just hoof it up to the stadium (easy walk from University). Easier for post-game festivities too.

Someone has really got to make a visitors guide to FW/TCU during the off season for all these out of town folks. Somebody asks for this information every week.

Good idea in theory, but you know it'll just devolve into another BBQ argument.

Todd's got a good point. If you're only three miles out, I'd walk it. Parking at Paschall High and using the shuttle works great to get you to the game, but afterward it's a lost cause. You'll be waiting forever to get on a shuttle - and once you do it'll be mired in traffic. If you do decide to park at Paschall, be prepared to walk back to your car (about two miles or so, I'd guess).

We talked about walking from the hotel but I wasn't sure how easy that would be? Also talked about taking the shuttle over from PHS to the game, then wandering a bit on campus afterward and just walking back to it. Wouldn't mind checking out some of campus after, win or lose.

Take your hotel shuttle:
