Herschel Sims Come on Down!

I would think that this clears the way for Mr. Sims to wear purple. TCU vs USC for Herschel Sims. This will be a fun race to watch.

Top running back Brandon Williams drops Baylor in favor of Oklahoma
Brandon Williams (Brookshire, Texas) decommitted from the in-state Bears Monday morning and is now set to play for the Sooners, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.

"I love Baylor and all the coaches," he said. "They have that program climbing fast. In the end, and after a lot of praying and tough decisions, I decided I wanted to be an Oklahoma Sooner. I am very excited about this opportunity and I consider my recruitment over. I have no interest in any other schools."

Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Kentucky, TCU and Tulsa have also offered the 6-foot, 190-pound ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect.

Williams rushed for 1,815 yards and 14 touchdowns and caught 38 passes for 512 yards and four more scores last fall.

Additionally, the speedster has run a 10.6 100-meter dash.

I hope Hershel Sims and his cousin both come to play at TCU but I am curious as to why Brandon Williams switching from Baylor to OU would affect what Sims does? From What I have read Hershel is looking at Florida and Miami and USC and UCLA along with TCU.

In his most recent interview, he said he had a top 3 of TCU, OU, and USC.

I hate to count chickens before they hatch, but if we ended up getting Herschel Sims and Johnny Manziel...that's two of the most exciting players I've ever seen in HS.

OK, thanks for the update. imo most recruits that go off to USC or for that matter UCLA from Texas wind up not happy and want to come home. Now OU is a different story and the Williams switch could well make a difference. Plus the fact that I think TCU is also interested in his cousin and I'm not sure if OU or USC wants them both.

Who is Johnny Manziel?

Super-stud do-it-all QB/Ath from Kerrville. Wants TCU so bad it's killing him, but the Frogs have yet to offer. Current offers from Baylor, Tulsa, and Wyoming...with interest from Texas Tech, A&M, OSU, and some others.

As for Sims, he would commit to TCU on the spot if they would offer his cousin. I think the conventional wisdom is that the Frogs are waiting to see what Malcolm Brown does first.

Manziel has that Sammy Baugh "good ole boy" look.

I can't imagine why this kid committed to Gaylor in the first place. Good thing he saw the error of his ways and committed to a winner.

Best RB available right now, it the 235 pounder at Stephenville, named Myles.

Put a leather helmet on that boy and wipe the smile off his face and he is a dead ringer for Sammy!

Sam acquired that look from playing football without a face mask. Lucky Manziel was born with it.

Sims just had his offer pulled by OU after they got Williams.

Apparently, he was surprised that they never told him it could happen when the offer was extended.

Wow. That is pretty classy OU. I understand telling a kid that you are full at his position, but to withdraw an offer is pretty low.
