I wish the Alamo bowl nothing but success in their future. That said I sure hope the powers that be down there are all working behind-the-scenes with local Mercantile and restaurants and bars to ensure that they are open @ Alamo bowl completion. Winners are going to want to party long into the night and that did not happen when we were there. And, ALL concessions and bathrooms must be open and functioning to give the proper bowl experience for both teams fans. You should not have to walk half a mile to buy a bottle of water or take a pee no matter what nose bleed seat you’re in.

That was a very frustrating experience.

Game organizers will also have an opportunity to select from a pool of 10 former Pac-12 members that are moving into the Big Ten or AAC. That list includes Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington.

I thought it was so interesting that a city that caters to huge crowds of tourist and conventions is so unprepared for a large crowd for a bowl game. I guess they have Texas so often that their fans all drive to and from the game each time and they don't fill the hotels and restaurants before and after the game.

Well, after living in San Antonio for many years, downtown isn’t set up to be open late unless it’s hard core drinking. There are some spots now near downtown that stay open late. For fans at the game, the best start time would be 3. Since it’s close to downtown, you can enjoy the riverwalk before the game, and there would he plenty to do after. Also, yes, the place is a poorly run dump
