It was an excellent performance from Hauss Hejny. Five touchdown passes for a 35-13 win shows how well CSU has been performing offensively. Good win against Wyoming, and an excellent performance by Hejny.

Understandable why he didn’t stay; Hoover had a good 2024 season during Hejny’s redshirt year and Hoover had two more years of eligibility, and adding Schobel may not have helped. It would have been a big gamble to see playing time at TCU, versus moving on where you almost know you will start and DEVELOP.

Not sure why you add the DEVELOP in capital letters.

I'm sure the kid just wanted to play, and like you said, he was gonna have to wait to do that here. Every kid out of high school has probably never even seen the bench before and thinks they are going to come in and play right away. When reality hits them, some want to just move on to somewhere where it's easier to get on the field. Probably not a lot different scenario than kids like Bech and Wiley, who had more competition for playing time at their former schools.

You are maybe too defensive; I emphasized, develop, because that is what playing time does - allows one to develop as a QB. Arch Manning may have wasted a year sitting for two, but he was being paid well at Texas and knew he was next up.

Hauss Hejny‘s development may lead him to play for Cignetti in 2027 or 2028, ha, and maybe Schobel at Indiana in 2028 or 2029. ;)
