I've felt that I waited too long to see some concerts over the years and the performers got too old.

With that in mind, when I heard that Hank Jr. was coming to the MN State Fair I decided to pull the trigger and hope for the best. I knew it would be much different than 20 years ago but hoped that he would still be able to put on a show.

My wife was not very excited about this but is a very good sport so she agreed to go. Last week she asked when the concert started and I looked it up. I saw that Hank had just canceled two shows in OK due to health issues and worse, saw that Marty Stuart (a complete bonus as the opener) had canceled a concert due to health issues of his wife, Connie Smith.

I watched over the last couple days, hoping that I wouldn't see a notice of cancelation. The concert was last night and went on as planned.

First, Marty Stuart killed it. I wish he had been able to stay on stage longer because he has a great voice and a great band.

Hank absolutely still has it; it was a great show. For a 76 (!) year old guy to run with the energy he did, recovering from some sort of illness, was amazing. I think it was the best concert I've seen and I'm so glad I was able to see it.

Marty is such a great musician. He and Connie got hit with Covid recently, but seems like they got past it fairly quickly. They missed an Opry date, which rarely happens with them.

Glad to hear it was a great show. We saw Hank years ago. There was some opening act and they were completely ignroed when a spotlight shown up on a chopper flying BCPHS in.

This site is unusable in mobile. [ What the heck? ] has happened to this place. All the pop up’s can’t even type without getting redirected or my post getting erased

Trying to make a long story short before it gets erased and redirected again… Had my appendix removed in FW yesterday morning. Some of the worst pain I’ve ever had for a solid 24hrs. Came for my son’s cross country meet and left with one less organ lol.
Did it rupture and are you back home yet?

We caught it within hours of rupturing apparently. They said I wouldn’t have made it back to Louisiana. I got great care at Texas health Harris. I’m back home resting now and on meds and got to enjoy the Frog win last night!
That's great news. Glad you're back home and got to enjoy the game last night.

I knew someone who wasn't listening to the pain their body was experiencing and nearly died from a rupture. It's scary how quick those things can turn an otherwise normal day into a life threatening (or ending) ordeal.
