I asked Chat GPT to Depict TCU's LaDainian Tomlinson, Andy Dalton, Max Duggan and Sammy Baugh on Mount Rushmore. Ehhh ...

Ironically, we tend to forget about Davey O'Brien: the only TCU QB to win a national championship. Is there a Sammy Baugh award for the best college QB every year? So, how can we leave him off that mountain? Hard call to pick 4 for me, but I would go LT, AD, Davey and Sammy.

Had to post this here. Who are you spending your $15 on?

I'm going with Daniels, Hughes, Washington, Carter and Newton.

Ignoring how they did in the NFL I'm going with Hughes, Schoebel, Newton, Blackwood and Wallow but lots of different combos make sense. Leaving Verrett off is hard, he might have played his position better than anyone I've ever seen at TCU other than LT. And he might have played CB as well as LT played RB but it's impossible to really compare the two.

I did not know Baugh was such a great defender. But Ai says:

Yes, Sammy Baugh was an elite defensive back in addition to being a Hall of Fame quarterback and punter. As a premier 60-minute player, he recorded 31 career interceptions. In 1943, he led the NFL in interceptions (11), passing, and punting, and holds the record for 4 interceptions in one game.

Here are key facts about his defensive prowess:
  • 1943 Dominance: In one of the greatest individual seasons in NFL history, Baugh led the league in interceptions (11), passing, and punting average.
  • Record-Setting Game: He is the only player in NFL history to throw 4+ touchdowns and record 4 interceptions in the same game.
  • Consistent Playmaker: Throughout his 16-year career with the Washington Redskins, he was recognized as a top-tier defensive back, accumulating 31 interceptions.
  • Versatility: Along with his 31 career interceptions, he also held the highest career punting average (45.1 yards).

Baugh is considered one of the greatest all-around players in NFL history, and his defensive contributions were essential to his legacy.

I'll take the bottom two rows because my defense with ten players will be much tougher than y'alls with five.

OK sticking with the intent, I'll take Daniels, Carter, Winters, Hughes, and Verrett.

No matter who you pick there are a lot of names where you say, how can I leave him out?

I didn't want to leave out Verret but I couldn't afford him after getting Hughes and Washington.
