Looks fine on tv. That one section in student seating was empty for the start of the game. It slowly filled in and looked full by around the start of the 2nd.

I think for the most part that attendance was very good this year. It's been a long time since we have had any visitors to Amon Carter. Some of you were not around during the SWC days when we would have 30,000 at a game and half were the visitors.

I can't see the 100 & 200 sections from my seats high in section 403. This could get better if TCU declared it a fail and did a 2011 +2.

On TV, it looked like a big time game where the visitors brought fans, but it did not make you say, "Wow, the road team took over the stadium."

Helps that the student section gets a lot of the camera action. Having it stretch goal to goal actually helps the imagery quite a bit. It is kind of a cool Cameron Indoor effect over there.

I don't think trying to take tickets away from people that are big donors is an idea that will fly.

Maybe Del Conte's office can gently suggest that high-points season ticket holders release tickets that weren't used or were under-used. Maybe the donation levels that entitle people to +4 tickets can be inflated.

Or maybe a 5-loss season will chill demand. I hope not.

I think having t-shirt fans that support TCU except when their teams come to town (primarily OU and UTx fans) was anticipated, at least by many on this board.

If attendance was bad today, it didn't show on tv. ESPN did aerial shots all game and ACS looked like a great showcase for CFB. So, a couple of thoughts:

- they designed the stadium to look great on tv, and it does.

- Based on the camera location, you could not tell on TV at any point (or if so only rarely) that the lower bowl was poorly attended. (Again... Good design).

- TCU has not ever, in the history of ever, averaged 45K in attendance for the year. That is the capacity of this stadium. This season, we will most definitely have our highest average attendance in our history... And it may be above our sell-out capacity.

Conclusion: The plus four didn't hurt our overall attendance nor did it hurt the way our stadium appears on national television.

Bonus thought: this issue (if one even really exists) will work itself out over time throughout the renewal process.

And by the way, the crowd was fine on TV. There were red dots in purple sections, but crowd noise was overwhelmingly pro-TCU.

I made it a point not to drink during this game-- social event involving helping UTx fans watch the K-State game tonight might involve my quota of alcohol for any 1 day, and then some-- so my judgment about crowd issues and the like was much less clouded than for most important TCU games that I watch from my couch.

It's almost embarrassing to use Baylor as a standard, but I guarantee that we had a better crowd than they did, and that Okie Lite had a much bigger impact, crowd-wise, on the game than OU did today.

Just back from the game - not sure what you guys are talking about but it was packed by mid first quarter - id say 65/35 TCU to OU fans. Loud too. Great game. Refs were not on our side.
