Women's Track & Field Earns Academic Honor
USTFCCCA presents All-Academic award to Horned Frogs
NEW ORLEANS – The TCU women’s track and field team had an accomplished year on the track and in the classroom. The Horned Frogs on-track success can be seen in their Mountain West indoor and outdoor titles, and now the performance in the classroom has been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday. The TCU women's team was named an All-Academic team for the Spring 2012 semester.
The Horned Frogs women posted a cumulative Spring 2012 GPA of 3.14. A team earns the distinction of being an All-Academic team by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Four individual members of the TCU women’s squad were honored last week by being named to the USTFCCCA’s individual All-Academic squad. Samantha Collins, Kelly Dawson, Kelsey Samuels and Megan Smith were distinguished for the ability to balance being competitive in meets, and being outstanding in the classroom.
