Douglas Earns NCAA Bid

FORT WORTH, Texas – Freshman Ellie Douglas earned an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Singles Championship that will be held from May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Douglas becomes the 13th player in program history to be selected for the singles championship and first since 2015. The freshman has racked up 11 wins this season including five over ranked opponents. The McKinney, Texas native has been ranked for the last month in the singles poll and has climbed to as high as No. 51. Douglas, who joined the team in January, played solely at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles and racked up six singles wins in her first season in the Big 12.

The team portion of the TCU women's tennis team's season came to an in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship. The Horned Frogs finished the 2019 season with 12 wins overall including two over ranked opponents.
