TCU Comes Up Short at No. 1 Texas
AUSTIN – TCU volleyball came up short in its upset bid over No. 1 Texas Saturday night inside Gregory Gymnasium in Austin, Texas. The Horned Frogs were feisty throughout the match, but would ultimately fall to Texas: 25-19, 25-16, 25-23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (UT, 25-19): The match started off rocky for both teams as errors led to 15 of the first 21 points scored. Texas held the advantage, 12-9, despite hitting negative. Things cleaned up from there as Adams announced her presence in the Gregory for the first time in her career. She led all hitters with five kills on .571 hitting in the openings frame but Texas would win the set by six. The Horned Frogs showed plenty of grit, epitomized by Nalls lunging through the bench to save a loose ball before Clark and Nichols blocked it for a TCU point. However, the Longhorn middles caught fire late in the set as they helped UT take seven of the final 10 points and win the set, 25-19.
Set 2 (UT, 25-16): McCall, Manyang and Nalls helped TCU jump out to a 4-1 lead. The Horned Frogs were able to maintain that lead up to 10-7 before Texas' middle blockers began to make their mark. The Longhorns finished the set with seven blocks and ended up taking the set.
Set 3 (UT, 25-23): The Horned Frogs showed grit in the final set, going on a 7-1 run to take a 13-10 lead. Then, again rattling off three straight points to jump in front, 19-17 a little later on but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the UT attack. Adams was calm and collected on the pin finishing with five kills on .444 hitting to lead the team But Texas secured the match.

TCU will have its final bye of the season before hosting Texas Tech inside The Rickel on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. The match will be broadcasted on FOX Sports Southwest.

- Freshman outside hitter Julia Adams led the team with 11 kills on .261 hitting.
- She has now delivered 51 kills over her last three matches (4.64 kills/set).
- Sophomore Katie Clark finished with a team-high three blocks. She has now collected at least three blocks in seven consecutive matches, the longest streak of her career.
- Junior libero Dani Dennison led the team with 10 digs.
- Freshman setter McKenzie Nichols paced the team with 23 assists.
- Freshman defensive specialist Bella Swafford made her impact felt in the third set. She hit two aces and added a match-point saving dig. It was the first multi-ace match of her career.
