GoFrogs: Triathlon Finishes Third at Battle in the Fort

FORT WORTH – The No. 1 ranked TCU triathlon team placed third overall in the second annual Battle in the Fort Triathlon at Marine Creek on Sunday.

Arizona took home first place, tallying 257 points and Arizona State finished second with 242 points. ASU's Naomi Ruff won the individual title with a time of 1:02.45, marking the second straight season she has won the event.

The Frogs saw four top-20 finishes, led by Amanda Moro and Jenna Buchanan who placed ninth and tenth, respectively. Ani Veltcheva finished 18th, Hannah Ye finished 20th, and Maddie Perkins was 24th.

"I am incredibly proud of how hard our women fought today," said head coach Jenny Garrison. "This was a great mid-season test and we are excited to work on the last pieces to the puzzle before traveling to regionals and nationals. We feel that something special is happening in Fort Worth."

Thanks for posting! I had no clue that a tri team was even a thing, much less that we were so good! I hope we can maintain that level of respect!!! And Promote it! Honestly, would've expected the top teams to be in Colorado or California, or if Texas, down in Austin. So cool! Is it just women's?
