GoFrogs: Horned Frog Men Win New Mexico Team Open
ALBUQUERQUE, N,M. — TCU's track and field teams competed at the New Mexico Team Open on Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

First-place Finishes
Derrick Mokaleng - mens's 400m - 46.83
TJ Brock men's 60m - 6.69
Mariah Castillo - women's 800m - 2:14.22
Chengetayi (Du) Mapaya - triple jump - 16.27m
Tinotenda Matiyenga - 200m - 20.96

Men's 60m
TCU has a one-two punch between Brock and Tinotenda Matiyenga. Crossing just barely behind Brock (6.687), Matiyenga (6.690) secured second place for the Frogs.

4x400 Relays
Both TCU's men and women placed first in the 4x400 relays. Blake Hennessy, Simbarashe Maketa, Jostyn Andrews and Mokaleng combined for a time of 3:11.24. The women's team consisted of Kiana Banks, Asiah Fields, Teleda Williams and Satanya Wright crossed in 3:44.12.

Women's High Jump
Jill Johnson planed second and set a new personal-best, clearing 1.75m. Keiley Sharp finished 6th, jumping 1.62m.

Men's Triple Jump
Steve Fossi-Noue (14.90m) finished third to pair with Mapay's first-place finish.

Women's Triple Jump
Brittany Brown (12.46m) and Tosin Alao (12.37m) finished in second and third, respectively.

Men's 600y
Andrews' time of 1:20.67 earned him a second-place finish.

Men's 200m
Three Horned Frogs finished in the top-10 of this event. Matiyenga (20.96) in 1st, Maketa (21.53) in 9th and Mokaleng (21.54) in 10th.

Men's Long Jump
Sam Corley won his flight and cleared 6.91m to place 6th in finals.

Women's Long Jump
Destiny Longmire planed 4th with a jump of 6.17m.

Women's 200m
Satanya Wright placed 6th with a time of 24.48.

Men's 3,000m
Sean Byrne ran a 8:55.48 and finished 4th.

Next Up
The Horned Frogs travel from Feb 7-8 to College Station, Texas, for the Charlie Thomas Invitational.
