FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – TCU track and field shined on the final day of the Tyson Invitational, watching three school records fall, and two Horned Frogs earn event wins at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Lloyd Frilot and Tabitha Ngao broke the 800m records, and the women's 4x400m relay ran the fastest time in TCU history. Frilot turned in a 1:46.82 to place second overall in the field and pass Jackson Langat (1:47.02, 2006) for the top time in the record books. Ngao broke her own school record, which she set earlier this month. The sophomore shaved over a second off her time, running a 2:03.79.
The 800m success didn't stop with Frilot and Ngao. Giovouni Henry and Mohammed Kowa ran personal best times that rank top in the 10 in program history. For the women, Georgia Scott, Sasha Crawford and Anastacia Gonzales also earned top-10 performances at TCU.
Indya Mayberry, Iyana Gray, Samarra Monrroy and Amelliah Birdow all combined in the Frogs' 4x400m relay to close out the meet with a bang. They took down the TCU school record set back in 2011 with a time of 3:33.27.
The Frogs also saw two individual event wins on day two. Senior sprinter Kashie Crocket won the 200m in 20.68 in a loaded field. In the women's mile, Ngao led the pack with a 4:39.08 to take the top spot.
TCU also saw personal bests from Tia Williams (200m), Ronnie Kendrick (200m), Elise Dobson (800m) and Samantha Callaway (shot put).
The Frogs are back in Fayetteville next weekend at the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 21. It marks their final regular season meet before the Big 12 Championships.
