The Horned Frogs are Dancing
FORT WORTH, Texas -- For the first time since 1998, the TCU men's basketball team has earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
As a No. 6 seed in the Midwest Region, the Horned Frogs (21-11) will face the winner of No. 11 seeds Arizona State and Syracuse Friday in Detroit, Mich. at Little Caesars Arena. The game follows the 6:20 p.m. CT game between No. 3 Michigan State and No. 14 Bucknell. Estimated tip time is 8:40 p.m. CT.
The game will be broadcast on CBS with Ian Eagle, Jim Spanarkel and Alli LaForce.
TCU was last in the NCAA Tournament during the 1997-98 season. No. 5 seed TCU lost to No. 12 Florida State 96-87 in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Frogs' last win in the NCAA Tournament came during the 1986-87 season when No. 4 TCU beat No. 13 Marshall 76-60 in Charlotte, N.C.
TCU head coach Jamie Dixon is in the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in his 15-year career. Dixon is 12-11 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. He has qualified for the postseason in all 15 years.
