GoFrogs: TCU Wraps Up Regular Season with Road Win at WVU
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The TCU Horned Frogs wrapped up the 2019-20 regular season with a 77-63 road win over the West Virginia Mountaineers, Saturday night at WVU Coliseum.

The win pushes TCU's overall record to 22-7 and a mark of 13-5 in Big 12 play. WVU dropped to 17-12 overall and 7-11 in the conference standings.

THE RUNDOWN
TCU shot better than 51 percent from the field on the way to a 41-30 halftime lead. Kianna Ray scored seven of her 10 first half points in the second quarter and the Frogs led by as many as 17 in the frame. Both teams swapped runs in the second period, but TCU's double-digit advantage led to the nine-point lead.

TCU pushed its lead up to 20 on two different occasions in the third and fourth quarters, but the Mountaineers mounted a 7-0 run and pulled within 10 points of the Frogs, down 71-61 with just 3:33 to play.

The Frogs called a quick timeout and managed to weather the storm, outscoring the Mountaineers 6-2 down the stretch, on the way to the 14-point win.

UP NEXT
TCU will head to Kansas City, Mo., next week to compete in the Big 12 Championship. The Frogs earned the No. 2 seed and will have a first-round bye. TCU will play the winner of the No. 7 and No. 10 play-in game on Friday, March 13, at 5 p.m.

TCU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POSTGAME NOTES

TEAM NOTES
• TCU won for just the second time when playing the Mountaineers in Morgantown. It is TCU's first win at WVU Coliseum since the 2017-18 campaign.
• TCU wraps up the regular season with 22 wins – the team's most wins prior to postseason play since notching 22 victories in the 2009-10 season.
• TCU's 13 Big 12 Conference wins are a new school record. The 13 conference wins are the most in a season since going 13-3 in the Mountain West back in 2010-11.
• TCU's 13 conference wins is tied for the most in school history. It marks the fourth time that TCU has won 13 conference games.
• The Frogs finish the season 9-4 overall on the road, which includes a school record seven road wins in Big 12 play. It is TCU's most road wins in a season since going 10-3 in 2003-04.
• With the win over WVU, TCU registered its sixth sweep over a Big 12 opponent this season. It is the most sweeps over Big 12 teams all-time, surpassing the previous high of three sweeps.

PLAYER NOTES
Kianna Ray opened the game with an assist, which gave her 400 assists in her career. She became the first player in school history and just the 14th NCAA D-1 player since 1999-00 to notch career totals of at least 1,000 points, 400 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocked shots.
Lauren Heard finished with 26 points. She has scored 20 points or more in three straight games dating back to the Texas Tech game. This is her second time this season to post 20-point totals in three straight games.
Yummy Morris poured in eight points and Michelle Berry matched it with eight points off the bench, as well.
• Morris also managed to pull down a team-high six boards in her 18 minutes of playing time.
Adeola Akomolafe played in her 135th game as a Horned Frog. She is now tied for the most games played in school history with Adrianne Ross.
