GoFrogs: TCU Wins Thriller; Takes Series At Kansas State
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Elijah Nunez robbed the game-tying home run to secure TCU's 4-3 win over Kansas State Saturday afternoon at Tointon Family Stadium. The victory gives TCU the series win over the Wildcats. Brayden Taylor and Karson Bowen homered for the Horned Frogs.

The Rundown
Sam Stoutenborough (3-0) turned in another solid performance, limiting Kansas State to a run on five hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out two. He never faced more than four batters in any inning. Luke Savage took over in the sixth and retired all seven batters he faced to get the game to the ninth.

Brayden Taylor's 18th home run of the season opened the scoring in the fourth. A lead-off double followed by two fly ball outs for Kansas State in the bottom of the frame tied the game at one.

TCU wasted little time responding as it took a 2-1 lead in the fifth. Kurtis Byrne doubled to open the inning. Logan Maxwell's sacrifice bunt moved him to third and Austin Davis drove him in with a sacrifice fly.

Karson Bowen's lead-off home run in the eighth gave the Frogs some breathing run. TCU added what proved to be the game-winning run in the ninth. With runners on the corners and one out, Davis executed a perfect safety squeeze to drive in Anthony Silva for a 4-1 lead.

The Frogs would need every run as Kansas State didn't go quietly. The Wildcats pulled within one with two runs on two hits and a wild pitch. Kyan Lodice's bid for the game-tying home run landed in the glove of a leaping Elijah Nunez to lock up the fourth save of the season for Garrett Wright.
