SERES QUICK HITS
The matchup marks the fourth time in school history TCU will face the reigning NCAA Volleyball Champion. A win over the Badgers
would be the Horned Frogs’ first victory over a defending national champion.
• The Horned Frogs and Badgers begin regular season play opposite one another for the second straight year. The programs met for the
first time on Aug. 27, 2021 in Madison, Wisconsin as a part of the annual Big 10/Big 12 Challenge. The Badgers claimed the contest in
straight sets.
• Last year’s season-opening setback at Wisconsin was an anomaly. TCU is 8-2 in its last 10 season-openers.
• TCU is 1-5 all-time vs. current Big 10 member institutions.
• A weeklong preseason training trip to Charleston, South Carolina gave TCU a confidence boost ahead of its tilt vs. the Badgers. The
Horned Frogs swept College of Charleston (C of C) on Friday, Aug. 19 in an exhibition affair in scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-11.
• TCU never trailed vs. C of C. The Horned Frogs led by more than 10 points in sets two and three.

FROGS FOCUS
Friday signifies the official debut of first-year head coach Jason Williams, who arrived in Fort Worth following a seven-year run at
Baylor. He served as the Lady Bears’ associate head coach from 2020-2021.
• TCU kept its errors tally under 20 vs. C of C. Last fall, the Horned Frogs were 6-1 when committing 20-or-fewer errors and 2-17 when
eclipsing the threshold.
• The Horned Frogs held opponents under .200 hitting in nine-of-16 home matches and all-but-one of their nonconference affairs inside
Schollmaier Arena in 2021.
• Including Friday’s exhibition match at C of C, the Horned Frogs are 8-3 when claiming the first set in a match dating back to 2021.
• The Horned Frogs return 10 letter winners and nearly all of their key contributors from 2021. TCU retained 98 percent of its total kills
(1,170), 90 percent of its total assists (1,001) and 68 percent of its total digs (863) from last season.
• Five of TCU’s 10 returners have tallied 300-or-more kills in purple and white; outside hitters Julia Adams (766), Audrey Nalls (479),
Afedo Manyang (476) and Taylor Raiola (306) and middle blocker Mykayla Myers (350).
• Adams’ value to the Horned Frogs’ offensive efficiency is undeniable. Last fall, seven of TCU’s eight victories correlated with doubledigit kill performances from the 6-3 senior.
• Senior McKenzie Nichols is closing in on further cementing her legacy as one of the all-time great setters to touch down in Fort Worth.
Nichols is just 249 assists shy of reaching 3,000 assists. She ranks in the top-five in career assists in TCU’s program record book
(2,751) ahead of her senior year.
• Williams’ inaugural roster features 10 newcomers, four of whom transferred to TCU from Power Five conference programs.
• This is the 26th season of TCU Volleyball. TCU has played in three NCAA Tournaments (2009, 2015 and 2016), two NIVC Tournaments
(2017 and 2019) and four conferences (WAC, C-USA,Mountain West and Big 12) since incepting the program in 1996.

Those girls are good. My daughter is a junior at UW and we saw that team walk by us at a football game last year. I felt very short...

At least they're down to only one girl taller than 6'6" this year (three last year).

Yikes!

As part of the Big12/BIG challenge we get to follow this match up with No.5 ranked Minnesota tomorrow. Tough way for a new coach to start.

Just learned that when my daughter moved into her new apartment she learned that three UW volleyball players live across the hall from her.
