FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU took an early lead and never trailed as the Horned Frogs took down Central Michigan, 89-62 Friday night at Schollmaier Arena.

An early dunk from Alex Robinson set the tone as the Frogs (5-1) got off to a hot start offensively, leading 15-5. TCU shot 58.8 percent from the field in the first half as the Frogs took 46-26 lead into the locker room at the half. The team's 46 points are the most scored in the first half all season.

Desmond Bane scored 18 of his season-high 24 points in the first half and was 8-of-11 from the field including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. He added nine rebounds to finish one shy of a double-double.

The Frogs continued to pour it on after halftime and led by as many as 30 points. Jaylen Fisher led the scoring efforts down the stretch and picked up all 14 of his points in the second half. TCU shot 54.7 percent from the field, it's second consecutive game of shooting over 50 percent.

Eleven different Horned Frogs saw playing time, and four of them scored in double digits. Kouat Noi had 16 points, while Robinson notched his third double-double of the season and sixth of his career with 11 points and 12 assists. JD Miller led the Frogs with 12 rebounds which tied a season high.

TCU takes to the road for the first time this season as they face cross-town rival SMU on Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Moody Coliseum in Dallas. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Team Notes
- TCU won 89-62, a 27-point margin. Both 89 points and the 27 point winning margin is a season high. It's the most points TCU had scored since defeating Iowa State 89-83 on Feb. 21, 2018.
- As a team, TCU grabbed 48 rebounds which is the most since Jan. 22, 2018 when it pulled down 46 boards against West Virginia. The Frogs are 45-14 when outrebounding their opponent under Jamie Dixon.
- TCU improved to 3-0 this season and 30-6 under Dixon when winning the opening tip.
- TCU played on a Friday night for the first time this season. TCU is now 8-3 when playing on Friday in the Dixon era.
- TCU had a season-high 20-point lead at the halftime break which was the largest since Nov. 20, 2017 when TCU lead Nebraska-Omaha by 22 at halftime.
- Led by Desmond Bane, TCU recorded eight blocks which is the second most in a game this season.
- TCU recorded 29 assists on 35 field goals, one game after totaling 31 assists on 34 field goals.
- TCU improves to 25-2 against non-conference opponents in the Dixon era at home and is now 35-5 overall.
- TCU held Central Michigan to 32.8 percent from the field, the lowest mark for an opposing team since Dec. 28, 2015 when the Frogs held Delaware State to 31.3 percent.

Individual Notes
- For the second straight game and third time this season, Kevin Samuel opened up the game with a dunk. Fourteen of his 23 field goals this season have been dunks.
- JD Miller recorded double-digit rebounds for the first time this season and matched a career high with 12 rebounds in the game. The 12 rebounds is the most for an individual Horned Frog in a game this season.
- Alex Robinson recorded 12 assists in the contest which moved him into a tie for fourth place on the all-time career assists charts with Jeff Jacobs with 475.
- Robinson also notched his sixth career double-double and third this season tallying 11 points to go along with his 12 assists.
- Desmond Bane recorded 24 points in the win which is tied for the second most he has scored in his career. It's the third time this season Bane has scored at least 20 points.
- Bane also set a career-high in blocks in the game with three.
- Samuel had two blocks. It was the fourth-straight game he finished with multiple blocked shots.
