GoFrogs: TCU Takes Series; Tops Oklahoma 6-4
NORMAN, Okla. – TCU scored early and led start to finish in a 6-4 victory over Oklahoma to secure the series win Sunday afternoon at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Johnny Rizer hit his second home run of the series in the first to lead the Horned Frog offense.

The Rundown
Back-to-back two out walks to Jake Guenther and Austin Henry had the Frogs in business in the first. Johnny Rizer took advantage and launched a three-run home run to left to give the Frogs a 3-0 lead.

The Sooners got a run back in the bottom of the first as a lead-off walk scored on a Tyler Hardman two-out single to make it a 3-1 ballgame.

TCU responded again in the second, once again taking advantage of two more free passes with two outs. Jake Guenther singled to left to restore the three run lead, 4-1.

Another lead-off batter reached in the third for Oklahoma and scored on a groundout to make it a 4-2 ballgame.

The Frogs picked up what proved to be two important insurance runs in the seventh. Guenther opened the inning with his second hit of the game. With two outs, Guenther scored on a wild pitch. Conner Shepherd followed with a base hit to bring home Alex Isola for a 6-2 contest.

Oklahoma made it interesting in the ninth with a two-out, two-run double to make it 6-4. James Notary was able to get the final out of the game for his first save of the year.

Brandon Williamson (3-1) was strong through a career-high six innings. He allowed two runs on four hits, walked two and struck out five. Jake Eissler pitched the Frogs through the seventh and eighth innings.

The victory pushes TCU's overall record to 20-10 and its Big 12 mark to 5-4. TCU will wrap up a four-game road swing Tuesday night at Dallas Baptist. First pitch against the Patriots is set for 6:30 p.m.
