GoFrogs: TCU Stays Unbeaten, Tops Oklahoma 1-0

NORMAN, Okla. –.Grace Collins' tally in the 73rd minute stood up as the game-winning goal as No. 4 TCU picked up a 1-0 win at Oklahoma on Friday night. In the contest, Emily Alvarado made five saves to become TCU's all-time shutout record holder with 19.

The Rundown
TCU controlled the bulk of the play in the first half, outshooting the Sooners 10-3 in the frame. The Frogs best look of the half came in the 38th minute when Payton Crews ripped a shot from the top of the 18. Sooner goalkeeper Nikki Panas dove and got her hands on the ball just before it crossed the goal line.

It was more of the same in the second half as the Frogs controlled the majority of the possession.

The Frogs finally found the back of the net in the 73rd minute. Crews sent a cross field feed right to the foot of a streaking Grace Collins. She worked around her defender and ripped home the game-winner.

Emily Alvarado made five saves in the contest to record her sixth shutout of the season. Her best came about five minutes after the Frogs took the lead as she made a leaping stop on a shot from distance.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell

On the game:
"I'm really proud of our group. We had some adversity throughout the week. Coming out the road and taking care of business was good. It would have been a bad deal for us if we played the way that we did and not come away with a result. Sometimes that happens in soccer, but today it didn't. I think we earned the result today against a very tough defending team that is hard to break down."

On Emily setting the career record:
"I'm very proud of her. She has put in the work and has earned it. She has come a long way. She came to a program that was kind of fledgling and trying to do things the right way. She believed in us. Now she is reaping the benefits of all her hard work and the team's hard work. I couldn't be more happy for her.
