GoFrogs: TCU Runs Win Streak To Six; Tops Texas State 8-2
FORT WORTH – TCU scored eight unanswered runs en route to an 8-2 victory over Texas State Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium. The Horned Frogs ran their winning streak to six straight. Anthony Silva homered and drove in two runs as part of a two hit evening.

The Rundown
TCU responded to a second inning two run Texas State home run with one of its own to tie the game. Austin Davis worked a one out walk and Anthony Silva followed with his seventh home run of the season to knot the game at two.

The Frogs took the lead with two runs in the fourth. Silva drew a lead-off walk and moved to third on a Luke Boyers base hit. He scampered home on a passed ball to give the Frogs a 3-2 lead. Brayden Taylor's two out single pushed the advantage to two, 4-2.

Texas State loaded the bases in the fifth inning with one out on two hits and a hit batter. Hunter Hodges (1-0) came on and needed just one pitch to get the inning-ending double play.

TCU carried the momentum into the bottom of the inning. With two outs, a Silva base hit started a string of five straight Frogs reaching base. Logan Maxwell's infield single drove in two for a 6-2 lead. Tre Richardson's base hit easily scored Maxwell for a 7-2 game. Kurtis Byrne's two out base knock in the eighth drove in Richardson to account for the final score.

Braeden Sloan started and allowed two runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out one. Cohen Feser turned in two scoreless frames. Ben Abeldt struck out the side in his lone inning of work and Luke Savage got the final three outs of the contest.
