GoFrogs: TCU, Macnab Shine at Jim West Challenge

SAN MARCOS, Texas --
Freshman Caitlyn Macnab is tied for first at 12-under-par 132 to lead the No. 22 TCU women's golf team to a second-place standing after Sunday's opening two rounds of the Jim West Challenge in San Marcos, Texas.

The Horned Frogs set a school record in single-round score for the second time this fall with their first round 12-under 276. It broke their previous mark of 277 set in the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational. TCU is at 19-under 557 and trails only No. 3 Oklahoma State in the 15-team field.

Macnab's opening round 65 included back-to-back eagles on holes 17 and 18. Her second-round 67 featured seven birdies, including a pair of stretches where she recorded three consecutive birdies. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native is tied with Oklahoma State's Caley McGinty for the individual lead.

TCU senior Sabrina Iqbal, who has two top-five finishes this season, is tied for fifth at 5-under 139. She totaled eight birdies on the day and was par or better on 33 of 36 holes.

Lois Lau is 2-under and tied for 16th. The TCU sophomore had three birdies and par on 14 holes en route to a first round 2-under 70.

Valeria Pacheco carded an eagle on the par 4, 241-yard 18th hole to highlight a first round even-par 72.

Caroline Jordaan had a pair of birdies and recorded par on 14 holes for a second round 72.
