TCU in select company

TCU and Florida are the only schools nationally this season to play in a BCS
game in football, reach the College World Series in baseball and win a
national championship in another sport.

The Horned Frogs captured the NCAA title in the coed sport of rifle,
becoming the first all-female squad to accomplish the feat, while the Gators
are the national champs in women's swimming and diving.

Last year, TCU, Florida and Texas were the only three schools to finish in
the top 10 in football and reach the Super Regionals in baseball.

Fifteen of TCU's 20 sports were represented in NCAA postseason play this
season by either teams or individuals. Eleven teams were nationally ranked.

TCU set a single-season school record by winning six conference
championships (baseball, women's basketball, football, men's swimming and
diving, men's tennis and women's tennis) in addition to its national title
in rifle.

In each of the last two semesters, TCU student-athletes have recorded their
highest cumulative grade-point average since tracking began in 1998. The
Spring 2010 departmental cumulative GPA was 2.98.

Fifteen of 20 sports had team GPAs over 3.0, while 56 percent of
student-athletes recorded a Spring 2010 GPA of 3.0 or higher. TCU had 22
student-athletes, including two-time consensus All-America football player
Jerry Hughes, record a 4.0 GPA.

I was a pretty good student, but never sniffed a 4.0. Very good, Jerry.

.

Hard to believe we've played in a BCS bowl and going to Omaha in the same year.

Unthinkable when I started at TCU in 1998.

I figured then that we would have a Sweet 16 in men's hoops well before either of those things.

Really?

How about there are just a few more non-TCU supporters that follow joe schad's tweets (especially right now) than get Mark Cohen's e-mails. Nice for other folks to see our names mentioned in that kind of company.

Get it now?

Schad made a tweet off a TCU press release. Real important. Let us know when he farts, too.

What are you so pissed about? Schad tweeting that can do nothing but help us. It might not be a big deal, but it helps.

Not pissed about anything. Gdu has posted this major Schad development at least twice on this board.
