TCU in Eighth After First Round​

Pagdin in 10th place to lead the Frogs

AUBURN, Ala. – The first round of the NCAA Auburn Regional concluded on Monday with the TCU men's golf team in eighth place.

The Horned Frogs waited out a weather delay to shoot 1-over 289 at Auburn University Club and are one stroke out of fifth place. After the third round is complete on Wednesday, the top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championship.

Two weeks after finishing in the top 10 at the Big 12 Championship, senior Joe Pagdin shot 1-under 71 in the opening round and is tied for 10th. Pagdin recovered with five birdies after a double bogey on the first hole.

Freshman Charlie Wylie is tied for 20th after shooting even-par 72. He made one birdie and one eagle, which came on the No. 16 par 5.

Tied for 31st are Jack Beauchamp and Toby Wilt who shot 1-over 73.

Freshman Hudson Wilt shot 5-over 77 and is tied for 66th place.

The Horned Frogs will begin the second round at 8:25 a.m. on hole No. 1. Top-ranked Auburn (-13) leads the 13-team field with UCLA (-5) in second and Georgia Tech (-4) in third.
