GoFrogs: TCU Duo on Earl Campbell Award Watch List

TYLER, Texas -- TCU running back Darius Anderson and wide receiver Jalen Reagor have been named to the watch list for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is presented to a player who was either born in Texas, graduated from a state high school or plays at a Texas-based University.

Anderson, who has also been named to watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, is TCU's career leader in yards per carry at 6.4. He was on pace for a 1,000-yard season last year before being sidelined by injury. He finished with a team-best 768 yards rushing and eight touchdowns in earning honorable-mention All-Big 12 honors.

A junior from Richmond, Texas, Anderson was the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 160 yards and three touchdowns, as well as totaling a career-high four receptions, in a 44-31 win at No. 6 Oklahoma State. He also ran for 106 and 99 yards in victories over Arkansas and Texas, respectively.

Reagor, the 2017 Big 12 Co-Freshman Offensive Player of the Year, led all true freshmen nationally last season with eight touchdown catches. It tied a TCU freshman record set in 2015 by KaVontae Turpin. In addition to topping the Horned Frogs with his eight receiving scores, he also led the team with 576 yards receiving on 33 catches.

The Waxahachie, Texas, native set a TCU bowl record with a career-high 169 receiving yards on a season-best five receptions in the 39-37 Valero Alamo Bowl victory over Stanford. Included in that total was a 93-yard touchdown catch for the fourth-longest play in TCU history.
