GoFrogs: TCU Completes Sweep; Runs Win Streak To Five
FORT WORTH – TCU scored six times in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 10-4 win over Baylor Sunday afternoon. The victory completes the sweep of the Bears and runs TCU's winning streak to five in a row. Brayden Taylor homered as part of a four hit afternoon.

The Rundown
Brayden Taylor's two out single in the first started a parade of hitters to the plate as TCU struck for six two out runs in the inning. Cole Fontenelle's base hit put the Frogs in front 1-0. Karson Bowen blooped a single into right for a 2-0 lead. Logan Maxwell doubled home two more runs and scored on an Austin Davis double. Kurtis Byrne capped the scoring with an RBI-single.

Taylor's 17th home run of the season to lead off the second increased the lead to 7-0 after two.

TCU added two more runs in the fourth to open up a 9-1 advantage. Davis doubled for the second time and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Elijah Nunez's third home run of the season came with two outs in the frame.

Baylor threatened late, loading the bases in each of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. The Bears managed to come away with just two runs with all of those base runners. Hunter Hodges got the Frogs out of the sixth, while Chase Hoover came on and left them loaded in the seventh. Ben Abeldt induced an inning-ending double play in the eighth.

Tre Richardson walked and eventually scored on an Anthony Silva ground out in the eighth. Baylor picked up a run in the ninth to account for the final score.

Sam Stoutenborough (2-0) started for the Frogs and went 5 1/3 innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits. He walked two and struck out one to pick up the win.

With the win, TCU improves to 30-21 overall and 11-10 in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs will wrap up the 2023 home slate Tuesday night against Texas State. First pitch against the Bobcats is set for 6 p.m. The game will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
