WACO, Texas - TCU had two players score in double-figures Wednesday night, but couldn't overcome No. 22 Baylor's hot shooting, falling to the Bears inside the Ferrell Center, 82-54.

The Rundown
For the game, junior Karviar Shepherd had a solid outing, tallying 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. Sophomore Chauncey Collins was also in double-figures, scoring 11 points, which all came in the first half. Junior Michael Williams, who made his 12th career start Wednesday, tallied a career-high eight assists in the loss. With his eight assists, Williams has now dished out five or more assists five times this season.

With the loss, TCU moved to 9-7 overall and 1-3 in league play, while Baylor showed why they are ranked in the top 25, improving to 13-3 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 action.

Terry Maston carried the Bears, scoring a game-high 17 points. Senior Rico Gathers totaled 11 points and eight boards in the win.

Brandon Parrish made it a 47-35 ballgame early in the second half, driving by a would-be defender and scoring on a layup. Baylor would go on a 10-0 run though the next couple of minutes to take a 57-35 lead, but TCU would continue to fight as JD Miller would score a tough layup to inch the Frogs closer as the 12-minute mark.

Down the stretch, the Purple and White couldn't make enough dents into the Bears' impressive night despite shooting 41.2 percent from behind the arc for the game.

Baylor opened the game, going up 11-4 early, but Williams would put an end to the run, draining a three with 14:50 showing on the clock. TCU then got defensive as Collins stole the rock and scored on the other end to make it an 11-9 ballgame at the 14:02 mark. The sophomore would continue his attack a few trips later, nailing a deep three to give the Purple and White a one-point lead at 12-11.

The two teams would go back and forth the next couple of trips and TCU would build a 16-13 advantage thanks to Vladimir Brodziansky scoring two-straight buckets at the midway point down low. Williams would move the lead to 24-19 at about the 10-minute mark, knocking down his second three of the contest.

TCU would take a 31-28 lead with 3:59 left in the half when Devonta Abron found a cutting Parrish down low to continue the Horned Frogs offensive attack. Baylor closed the half on a 13-0 run to take a 41-31 lead into intermission.

Quote of the Game
Trent Johnson
"It was 31 to 31 there for a little bit and we took some ill-advised shots. Against a team like this you've got problems. There's not a lot of bright spots and we really struggled with our lack of competitiveness in the second half, but they're good. They caused a lot of problems. We've got work to do."
